Blast From The Past

Can't get to the future without taking a look at the past. GQ did an special black history line of well dressed men of the past. Special favorite Langston Hughes, smooth soulful brother of the Harlem Renaissance. He stormed the world with his writing.

Harlem

What happens to a dream?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Langston Hughes
