Happy Holidays, Merry X-Mas, and Seasons Greetings

I missed the memo when we agreed to take Christ out of Christmas

When we changed it to the holiday of pride and greed

I missed the message that read of how Santa became the new hero

And that he should get more praise than Jesus

Don’t look at me like I’m a Scrooge

Or like I’m trying to start a problem or something

I’m just saying why there are so many shows about Santa

But none about the birth or life of Jesus

Children all over staying up to the wee-hours of the night

Awaiting the Big Man baring gifts

Instead of praying or hearing stories about Jesus

And learning all his tales

I understand children need stuff to believe in

But who better to put their trust and faith in?

We make Santa this perfect idle

And made Christ’s birthday about us getting presents

When has it ever been cool to go to your friend’s birthday party

And steal their lime light and gifts

Make the entire event about them

Hey, I get it we all like receiving stuff

I like gifts just like the next guy

But let’s not obsess over it and make everything about us

Let us celebrate the gift of life, and

Celebrate our families and the time that you have with one another

Let us not forget who brought us together, and

Remember whose day it really is!

It not about us, don’t X-out Christ

Who you following?

"I'm following God, He got the GPS directions to true happiness!!! #stamp"

We get so used to following people who have no true value to us. We end up in a bad situations when we look to those who can do nothing for us. It's funny how we look to everyone else except God for directions and answers. When he knows exactly where we need to be to be happy. Why would we look pass the one who know the true directions, the true answers, without the bs from man. Just think how easier and/or less stressful life would be with ultimate help by your side! I'm just saying, who are you really following?

Isaiah 57:13

13 When you cry out for help, let your collection of idols save you! The wind will carry all of them off, a mere breath will blow them away. But whoever takes refuge in me will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain.”

Lunar Eclipse

So I enjoyed watching the Eclipse tonight, I had to stay up and see what all the fuse was about. It's really amazing what happens in our world. Little things like planets moving around can be so beautiful. Sometimes you just have to take the time out and appreciate what God made. The world is full of so much we've yet to see. And I plan to get a good look at all that I can!

As Seen On TV

Its funny how these TV shows now are having celebrities living out their lives behind the camera. Watching their every action and we're just stuck in front of the TV eating it up. Putting these people on a pedestal like there better than the "Average Joe." Yet, with that being said I actually like these shows, because they show how normal a celebrity can be. Like the shows make them seem like us; and it's because the are. They are just as NORMAL, corky, silly, clumsy, and so much more just like we are! Still even though we see this, we still put them on this level that's better than us. We dedicate our free time to them or cry if we were to see them in person. When they do the same smart or STUPID things that we are capable of doing. If I was to smoke weed, it would be looked down upon. Let Lil Wayne do it or someone else even and it turns to the coolest thing in the world. What makes us so much different than we are. They have a lot of money, sure. That doesn't make them better than us though. Or we should idolize and try to be like them. Be like yourself first! Who said your not capable of doing something great or special or amaze just for you. Yet, your never know if you can if you try to live like someone else is. You can live your whole life trying to be like Nicki Minaj or Drake or Hannah Montana, but that won't get you anyone except lost dreams and sad nights. Real talk I challenge you to look at yourself in the mirror first and be the best you can be. Then get your time in the lime light. "Visualize wealth [fame, love, or whatever you desire] and put yourself in the picture!"

-Side Note-

And why all you girl and guys too, always talk about I want to marry that celebrity or this one. "Yo chill son Meagan Good my girl!" "Girl don't play with me you know Trey Songs is my MAN!" I get they are famous, but what's wrong with that guy down the street that can dress just as good and will tell you how beautiful you are on the regular. Or that girl that's just as sexy as any other, but you don't see her since she's not putting herself out there. Our standards for a perfect mate are lost in false realities of happiness. Instead of seeing whats in front of you, our heads in the clouds. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with dreaming or planning. BUT some people get serious and get upset when you talk about their celebrity crush. I don't know, I think the whole thing is crazy. Celebrities are cool and all; I also respect what they do and their talents. I just don't think people should react to them like they do.

Check Out The New Business Cards!!!

Thought I might do something new! Something simple, but not too plain; kinda like me!

Vivan los cubanos

For those that don't know I am half African-American from my mothers side and I'm half Cuban from my father. Thus Vicente Hernandez! I'm really feeling my Cuban side tonight, so I had to write about it. Cuban's get looked down upon for a lot, yet everyone is trying to get to Cuba. That's kind of an oxymoron to me. Nonetheless Cuba is beautiful, I went once when I was 4 or 5 when I could get in "legally" with my father and a friend of the family. It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen; even though I was young I still could recognize beauty. It had that old stuck in the 70's look with a touch of paradise sprinkled along the island. It's history was preserved in every building on the block and every person walking down the street. It was so different than what I recognized by in the states. There was real love for each person in Cuba; I was treated like family with people I didn't know. I can't explain all the blessings I endured in my travels to Cuba, but every moment there was perfect. I truly can't wait to go back!

I know you didn't think just because I was having my moment about Cuba. That I wasn't going to talk about fashion, sadly mistaken! Cuba is known for some of it's fashion on the low. Cuban culture and style is influenced by the European's, Spanish, African's, and American's. So you know we full of flavor!

The Tyler Perry

I know I have been on hiatus for awhile please forgive... I've working really hard! On to other news Mr. Tyler Perry, an actor, producer, film marker, play write, and so much more is a gifted man. Not only can he throw on a wing and portray a female. He can switch to that suave style quick. Most men are to afraid of the sweat suit jacket combo, but Mr. Perry her shows no fear. He on countless occasions has been best dressed or pretty darn close. Maybe Madea has been giving him some pointers! But non the less which ever side of him is getting dressed in the morning is doing a good job...

50 Cent Worth More Then 2 Quarters

I my self am not a 50 Cent fan, but he knows how to fix himself up. It's really amazing to see someone from a "HIP-HOP GANGSTA" perspective, transform to a suave figure. A simple suit and tie can change your thoughts on someone. With his transformation I can now respect him as a business man. I see him as taking on new ventures in life. I'm actually thankful; in this world we are in everyone needs to be in a business mindset. The fact that he has changed and seems to be adapting this new way of life is refreshing. 10 cool points for you sir - lol!

Mos Def Tribute

Mos Definitely I had to spotlight Mos Def for his unique style and vibe he gives off. Born in Brooklyn, NY, this power-house poet takes the world by storm in movies, music, and arts. Great men of these past generations have made a difference in the mental realms that still inspiring us today. Not to throw Mos Def in the old head bin, never that. I am just respecting his age and up.

Spring Must Have For Men - Accessories-

GQ has presented their predicted must have spring accessories for us guys. The have gave some reasonable hats, watches, and ties. I am personally a fan of the new skinny ties coming out. They can turn a simple white dress shirt to a fashion statement. Throw on a new Nixon or Breitling and we have a look for any style event...
Now these aren't no cold spring day or summer day accessories. Wait for that perfect day hot warm day and SHOW OFF!

Mr. Lennard Jr.

Special thanks to Mr. Lennard Jr. for this picture! Old school busboy look very classic and mature. Classic spenders and "poet/newsie" hat makes any it real throw back. Have to show respect where our original chill fashion comes from.

Blast From The Past

Can't get to the future without taking a look at the past. GQ did an special black history line of well dressed men of the past. Special favorite Langston Hughes, smooth soulful brother of the Harlem Renaissance. He stormed the world with his writing.

Harlem

What happens to a dream?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

Langston Hughes
